Day Eight - Tenacity and Bravery

Addison is the kind of child who plays hard.  She very rarely slows down, she's in constant motion and because she grows so much and so quickly, she can be a little clumsy.  She falls down running, sometimes just walking.  However, she is one of the toughest kids I know.  Most times, she declares, "I am okay!" while she is still in the process of falling.  She doesn't mind shots...in fact, when she was two years old she watched the nurse inject her flu shot in her arm and then she thanked her.   Because she's such a tough kid, it's pretty easy to tell when she's hurt, like the time that she cracked her nose on the edge of a stair and within five minutes her nose was three times the size it normally was.  However, even in that instance she tried to show her bravery.  When she had to go get an x-ray to see if it was broken she sat so perfectly still, even though she was nervous.

One of the things I admire most about Addison is her tenacity and her bravery.  Today she got her ears pierced.  She's been looking forward to this for a couple of weeks, and has even been doing her "research" (which involved asking the one friend she has with her ears pierced if it hurt).  She sat in the chair today and had both of her ears pierced without even flinching.  Even if it had hurt her, I don't think she would have let us known.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for blessing Jeff and I with such a lively little girl.  Thank you for her bravery, thank you for the spirit she brings to our family.  Thank you for trusting such a strong child to us and please bless us with the direction we need to continue to develop her heart in a manner that honors you.  Thank you for the many blessings you have showered upon us. Amen.
