Today was a first for me. I have alway disillusioned myself into thinking that both yoga and pilates are "easy" workouts. That if your feet aren't pounding the ground it's not a real workout. Boy, have I been wrong. I was given a gift certificate to a yoga studio (thanks Nana and Papa) and today was my first class. It was the most intense 75 minutes of workout I have had since probably my junior year of college. It was hard. And sweaty. I sweat more in those 75 minutes than I have in the last 75 days. I love to sweat (not because it's hot out but because it means I am pushing myself). Mother of pearl. I went with a friend, who thankfully, thought it was as hard as I did. But it was fun. It felt good and it opened my mind (and my pores!)
Dear Father. Thank you for giving me a new experience today. Thank you for opening my mind. Thank you for sweat. Please continue to open and bend my mind. Forever Gracious, Amen.

Okay, two things. First of all, I did yoga three days ago and I'm STILL sore -- crazy! And secondly, I SAY MOTHER OF PEARL TOO! Ha! I've never known anyone else who says that! Did I get it from you? Did you say it back in high school?
I'm loving your gratitude postings. They are contagious!
Kate - I can barely move. It's funny that you say that too! Thanks for the encouragement!
