Today I am thankful for Ramona Quimby. I know she is a fictional character but since my mom and I first introduced Addy to her in September when we took her to see the movie she has been a big part of our lives. Since that time, Addison and I have started reading chapter books together at night. The first night I read out of the Ramona and Beezus book, she had me keep reading and reading and reading, until she fell asleep. I feel that Addison would have a strong love of books even without "knowing" Ramona, however, Ramona has somewhat strengthened this. I loved the Ramona books when I was a little girl and I am so thankful that I am able to share them with my own sweet girl, who may have a large number of Ramona-like characteristics.
Dear Lord-thank you. Thank you for giving me the gift of reading with my daughter. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend time with her and share with her a part of my childhood. Amen.
