Today, was not what I was expecting. I had taken today off and I was expecting a day of leisure. I received a phone call at 9:45 am that entirely changed the course of my day. I had dropped Autumn off at the groomer's and they were calling to inform me she had fleas. What?! I am so grossed out by this. I have to be honest, when I first wrote this post, I wasn't going to include what the phone call was....but as I figure it, it could be worse. Nobody had noticed her itching, nobody had any flea bites. So, obviously, I went into manic Sara mode and we needed to clean every inch of the house. However, I am not going to focus on the negative. I am going to find the positives. I suddenly needed my day off to take care of some things, but it was there. The only casualty of the day was the glass decorative ball on one of the curtain rods. My mom took the girls this evening for us. I still got to spend a lunch hour with my dear friend Rebecca, my mom, Jeff and my girls. My husband is willing to help clean, so he worked on the house, while I spent $27 in quarters at the laundry mat washing every soft surface I could possibly put into a washing machine. I got a little bit of work done on a much needed project. It could have been totally worse. It could have been like the Velveteen Rabbit.
Dear God, Thank you for providing me with the energy today to get done, what needed to be done. Thank you for helping me reframe this so I am not so bothered by this. Life is life. Amen.
