Overall, I have realized something today. What I am most thankful for in my life may appear to be the unremarkability of it. It's not really unremarkability (not sure if that really is a word...) but the normalcy of it. Of the fact that the best days spent are the days where we just spend time with our kids, with each other and with our parents. That while we have little challenges - figuring out communication styles, working out the budget, parenting logistics like who is taking who where....that these are the things that make our life what it is. Who is going to take the trash out? Who unloaded the dishwasher? Did we really just run out of soap?! Those things are normal - and I am thankful for them.
Dear Father - thank you for the routine you provide, thank you for the challenges as well. Thank you for normalcy. Amen.
