I am so thankful for little opportunities to share God with Addison. The other day we had the opportunity to talk about heaven - and what we thought was there. Her version included a little brother. (Not a part of our plan!) Tonight she asked me to say a prayer before bed instead of saying the one we usually say at bedtime. After I said "Amen" she said she had something to say to God. I told her to go ahead...
"...thanks God. I love you. Do you have a pillow pet?"
Obviously she doesn't grasp the whole concept - who really does. But I like her honesty around it. I love her childlike innocence and I am thankful for the moments that He is providing for us to discuss His love.
Dear Father - thank you for developing Addison's heart and mind. Thank you for giving me opportunities as her parent to share with her about you and your sacrifices for her. I pray that these continue and that her heart chooses you.
Amen.
