Day Twenty One - Baby Jesus

Today I am thankful for lots of things, but mostly I am thankful for baby Jesus.  Before Thanksgiving this year Addison was asking when she could put up baby Jesus at Nama's house.  Nama has a great nativity scene and Addison is enamored with the baby.  We told her we could look for a nativity scene for our house, but I wanted to to be something I wouldn't freak out about if she played with it. (Yeah, believe it or not, I am known to freak out).  We never found anything and I dropped the topic, hoping she would as well.

Today we ran into the Christian bookstore to run a quick errand.  Addison, like every other (almost) four year old in this world had a case of the "I wants".  I ignored all of these and we were leaving the store when something caught my eye.  At the front of the store was a clearance table of 50% off.  And on it....was baby Jesus.

We are the proud new owners of a Fisher Price Nativity set.  Plus...I even got two Christmas presents at a great deal for next year!  I am thankful for baby Jesus, for the opportunity to share this with my kids, and to have a new nativity scene that will not result in any freaking out...!

Dear Father, thank you for the gift of your son.  Thank you for the love that this instills in each of us.  Thank you for a great deal and thank you for providing an opportunity for more discussion with both of my kids about your love and grace.  Amen.
