Wow. We've been really far behind! The summer seemed to have just zoomed past! We've had lots of fun and exciting things happen in the last four months. Let's see if we can do a quick summary:
- Jeff got a new job!!!
- We booked our trip to Disney
- Addison moved into a big girl bed (but not big girl pants….)
- We got a new roof
- Sara is coaching soccer
- Jeff is graduating!
That is a pretty quick recap. Jeff had a whirlwind experience with being recruited for a new job, interviewing, starting the new job and ending at Wedgwood. I think it was a pretty bittersweet experience for him. He had been at Wedgwood for six years and there were a pretty big six years in his life. Plus-with the new job came new hours. No more Daddy and Addy days on Mondays. Jeff's new schedule is 7:30a-6p Monday through Friday…but NO WEEKENDS AND NO NIGHTS! We're working on adjusting schedules…I am only going to be in the office three days a week now so we can keep daycare costs down. Jeff's new job was certainly a move in the upward direction. He is a healthcare recruiter…and is loving it!
We made the decision with some friends of ours to take our kids to Disney. So next May the Ekloves, Houtmans and Zielinskis are heading to Orlando for seven nights filled with Mickey, Minnie, Handy Manny, Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Tinkerbell and all the others. We're excited by I have a feeling we will need another week after vacation just to rest. There will be four kids under four!
Labor day weekend seemed like a good time to do it….so we did. Addison got a new bedroom. Well, actually same bedroom. New paint, furniture, bedding, etc. She is quite pleased with herself and her pillowtop mattress. First night did not go so smoothly. Things have improved and she seems to love it. Good thing too, otherwise I might find myself sleeping on it….it's quite comfortable! We have however, not graduated to underwear. She flatly refuses. And continues to go in her pull-ups. She does seem to have a fascination with going potty when we are in public places So, maybe if we never went home she would get potty-trained?
After two years of hard work on the neighborhood association we have a new roof. This has been lots and lots of hard work. Not fun work either. Elections for the board will be at the end of the month. Guess who is NOT putting their name on the ballot again…..
And lastly….I started coaching soccer in August. I am coaching a U-11 B girls club team. We are having lots of fun – and are doing really well. We travel as far as Ludington, but are enjoying it! So far we are 4-1. Not bad!
Believe it or not….we have a graduation date! Seven years of hard work are coming to fruition for Jeffrey. In two weeks he begins his second to last class. We're in the last little stretch!
No pictures on the post. I am trying something new….posting from Microsoft Office Word 2007….and I can't figure out how to do the pictures….if anyone knows that would be great!

oh good! I'm glad you are back :) Sounds like you guys are doing great. I can't help you with the picture thing on MS Office, but post pics when you can!
Ewan loves to check out public bathrooms as well! And our transition to a big boy bed happened 3 weeks before the girls were born. Needless to say, that didn't go over so well!
