Day 378 - A moment of pride

We have told Addison that five year olds eat salad.  She believes this.  So when we were at the grocery store today I asked her if she was going to wait until her birthday and have to have her first salad then, or if she was going to try it ahead of time.  She decided today was the day.  It went pretty well.  We bought croutons and baked snap peas to give it a little oomph and I even offered to buy her her own salad dressing, but she told me she kind of likes ranch.  She ate the first half of it without an issue.  And she was pretty darn proud of herself.  She even asked me this evening to facebook her teacher and tell her what she did.  (Yes, my not even five year old knows facebook). There may or may not have been some gagging in the last three bites we made her take before she could be done.  But, it was nothing like the brussel sprouts, and for this I am thankful.

Dear God, Thank you for a little girl who is willing to try new things.  Thank you for a little girl who is also pretty gullible.  Let us enjoy these moments while we can. Amen.
