Day 252 - Alexander

Alexander knew it was going to be a terrible day when he woke up with gum in this hair.

And it got worse...
His best friend deserted him. There was no dessert in his lunch bag. And, on top of all that, there were lima beans for dinner and kissing on TV!  So, his solution was to move to Australia....

With a day that was much like Alexander's I understand where he was coming from.  However, I am thankful for one of the last lines in this book, "Some days are like that....even in Australia."  Just a gentle reminder that it could always be worse, and that it is important to find the positives in your day.  Even when you have to search.

There were moments throughout my day that I am thankful for.  Below is a picture of Olive watching her sister riding her bike in the driveway.  Just longing to be with her.  I am thankful for the love and adoration they have for one another.

And here is a picture of the science project we did at lunch today.  Addison was convinced that there would be a crab inside of her "crab apple".  We sliced it open and she was less than impressed - but it makes me thankful for her inquisitive spirit.

Dear God, thank you for reminding me nobody else wants to come to a pity party.  Thank you for reminding me that even on the days that are difficult, you are there to help us reframe and re-evaluate where we decide to focus our energy.  Thank you for your steadfast nature.  Amen.
