For as long as I can remember Jeff has had a passion for music. He's not in a band or anything, but music soothes him. He's typically not far from his iPod and he is always looking for new artists. Today I was on the car with Olive and she was a little fussy. I tried talking with her and telling her stories...didn't help. Out of ideas I plugged in the iPod and opened the window. At the next red light I looked back and there's my girl- sitting in her cow seat, sucking her thumb and swaying to Kings of Leon. Such a moment.
Dear Lord, thank you for this subtle cue to remember that there are things our children model after us. Please allow me to model behavior that honors you. I thank you for the opportunity to look at my little girl and see pieces of her Dad shining through. Amen.
