Day 162 - A Quiet Reminder

Today when I came home I was tired and I had a lot to do to get the girls down to bed and get prepared for tomorrow.  However, there was a quiet reminder of yesterday for which I am thankful.  Yesterday, we had a fish funeral.  Dory, the faithful and hearty Eklove passed on.  She had been with us for more than two years and had "faked" us out many times.  She was resilient and a good fish.  Our funeral for Dory was something Addison was a part of and she was so mature about the entire event.  We each said one thing we loved about Dory, then we said a prayer for safe passage to the ocean and thanked God for taking her spirit to heaven safely.  Then we flushed her.  This is the "gravestone" that Addison made for her.  I am hoping that she is just as mature when it is time to take down the gravestone, but for now, it stays.  RIP Dory.

Dear Father, thank you for the lesson you provided for us.  Thank you for a good fish.  Amen.
