Today we trekked to the pediatrician yet again. Olive still seems to be battling the same cough and green goober nose she had a month ago. There seems to be no apparent issue with ears, etc - and since she wasn't responsive to antibiotics they want to do allergy testing. (We went through this with Addison two months ago....) So I walked down the hall from the peds office to the lab to have her blood drawn - only to find about 15 people in front of me. It was 12:20 and I had a 1:00 appointment - no way that way going to work. So I brought Olive back to Jodi's and went to work. My 4pm cancelled and I picked her up and took her there for her blood draw. Not fun, it's just as hard on the Mama as the babe - but we were both troopers. And then we picked up Addy from pre-school and were able to sit down for dinner by 5:30. That's pretty amazing. I am thankful for the fact that my 4pm client bothered to call to cancel instead of no-showing, I am thankful that we were able to get this into our day without extending into our evening.
Dear Father - I am thankful for the fact that my 4pm took the time to call, I am thankful for this extra hour that allowed me to preserve our evening AND take care of the babe. Amen.
