Today I am thankful for the prospect of tomorrow. Seventy degree temperatures. Seeing Dad and Mary for the first time since October. Seeing a blue sky and some sunshine. Thankful for the desert. We are so blessed to have this annual trip to look forward to. I am so appreciative that while our Nana and Papa don't live close during the cold months they provide us with a week to look forward to at the end of our winter. I feel like this trip is often our "reward" for the cold and gray months that we have endured since November. I am thankful for a change in scenery and some warm weather.
Dear God - thank you for giving me a sunny outlook today. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to as our snow turns to slush and a wet mess. Thank you for going to see Nana and Papa! Thank you for a place to relax, with no agenda, with no demands or priorities. Please allow us to completely dwell in the present for the next week without worry or concern for what lies ahead. Amen.
