Day 35 - Honesty and Kung Fu

Honesty - shined in three different lights tonight.
1. Tonight Addy was pretty wound up and got herself in a bit of trouble, a few times.  She mentioned at one point that she thought I loved Olive more than her.  This opened up a bedtime conversation that was pretty poignant and close to the heart.  We talked about how there's no way I could love one of them more than the other because God put a piece of both of them in my heart.  Her response - "I don't remember Him doing that."

2. I also had a conversation with someone I care about a lot tonight.  I knew this person had been having a tough time in the last couple weeks and the honesty that she brought to the conversation can only build relationships closer.  I am thankful for her willingness to do this and to share her plight with me.

3. I asked Addison if she was excited about dance class tomorrow.  She said, "no." I asked her if she liked dance and she let me know it was, "okay."  I asked her if she wanted to do it again next year and she said, "No thanks".  I asked her what she wanted to do instead...."How about Kung Fu, Mom?"

Dear Father - thank you for shining lights on the importance of honesty throughout my day. I am thankful to have people that will be honest with me in my life.  I am thankful that I am finding ways to appreciate the honesty and not find it to be more work or less than pleasant.  I ask you to continue to shower honesty in my direction and I thank you for the blessings you bestowed upon me and mine today.  Amen.
