Day 32 - It Takes a Village

....to raise kids.  Isn't that the truth?  I don't believe that parents alone can take the raise children - it takes an entire group of people who love them.  I am so thankful for our village.  Thankful that there are people who love our children and us enough to be a part of this process.  Thankful for Jodi who loves our Olive like she was her own, thankful for Miss Wendy and Miss Tina who love Addison and help teach her new things, thankful for Nana and Papa, Nama and Pa.  Thankful for our extended family who care about how our girls turn out.  Thank you for Jessi and Austin who have become a part of our family.

This importance of concept of village style parenting became apparent to me as I listened to a few people's stories today at work and realized how blessed we truly are.  I am so thankful that when I have to go to work on a snowday that there are people in our village as wonderful as my cousin Jill.  Jill who took Addy for the day, and wore her out (she fell asleep on the way home!).  I am thankful that there are people in our village like my mom who offers to come help with the girls when we've had a long day, when there's just one of us here, or just because she misses them.  Thankful for all four of our parents who listen to us when we've hit a roadblock and offer advice out of love.  We are so blessed in our village.

Dear Father.  Thank you for the abundance of people that you have placed in our village.  Thank you for allowing us to see the village for what it is, a replica of your love.  Thank you your love.  Amen.
