Today I am thankful for "show and share." Show and share is a day at Addison's school where each kid has to bring a toy of their own - place it on the table and let the other kids play with their toy. Last night Addison opted for a stuffed animal. We had it packed in her backpack and she was all set to go. However, this morning, she had a mini meltdown because she wanted Molly to come in the car with us. For those of you who do not know who Molly is - she is Addison's Bitty Baby. I discouraged this because I didn't think that Addison would handle everyone else playing with Molly well. However, we let her make her own decision. On the way to school she had an even bigger meltdown when she realized everyone who be playing with Molly....
I shared with Miss Wendy (Addy's teacher) what had transpired thus far in our morning and she smiled and said knowingly, "learning to share is why we do this....it'll be fine...."
After school Addison told me she let Miara play with Molly because she was busy playing with Ava's toy.
I am thankful that it went well, and I am thankful I got out of the way of the lesson.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for pulling me out of my own way and out of the way of an important lesson today. please continue to bless addison with a sharing heart please allow me to remember that i need to model this for both of my girls. Amen.
(Molly is so beloved - she had a matching dress and attended Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Jaffer's wedding!)
