Jeff and I have been talking about getting bikes for FOREVER! We finally brought my old (fifteen year old!) bike from my parent's house. We quickly discovered that it might work but that we would have to put some love into it - new tires, new rear wheel, new brakes, new tubing...etc. After looking at it - I decided to not invest the love in it....

This weekend Gramme and Pops took Waddy overnight and gave Jeff and I an afternoon and evening to ourselves. We had talked about going away somewhere but decided to stick around and just enjoy ourselves around town. Well - we went to the bike shop - and looked at new bikes. And then we left. After the guy gave us the price. We went to lunch and talked about it and then continued with our afternoon - getting graduation open house gifts, going to other bike shops and enjoying each other's company. Then we went back to the bike shop and swiped the debit card. This evening we went for our first family bike ride. Other than Addy having some difficulty understanding that her helmet needed to stay on - it went excellent! We've got plans for our next adventure already!

We also got Addy a trailer and the bike rack. I think that while we ended up spending WAY more than I had wanted to - it was a good investment. There's no way that Jeff would have comfortably fit on a standard size bike - and the bike shop we went to was fantastic and helpful. We did some penny pinching in ways we could to make me feel better about it - we bought the bike rack as cheap as we could and got a GREAT deal on Add's trailer and helmet.
After bike shopping Jeff and I went out to dinner to a local fish/seafood restuarant and had an excellent - baby free/sippyfree/highchairfree/ screamingfree/foodthrownonthefloorfree dinner. The food was incredible and so was the rest of the evening!
As I mentioned....Addison has a little bit of an issue keeping her helmet on. She doesn't quite understand. Although - if my hair was a cute as hers I would throw a fit about having to put a helmet over it too!

From the pictures we saw it looked like Addison had an excellent weekend as well! She went to cousin Trinity's 3rd birthday party, she got her first baby doll and she went streaking after a nakey trip to Gramme and Pops' hot tub!
