back in the saddle again

At least for one of us. We got home from vacation on Saturday. I had picked up a shift at Wedgwood for today but got a call this morning....there were only four kids...so I didn't have to go in. So I got to stretch my vacation out one more day. We went to the park and had a picnic. Addison's first. Autumn was especially excited about this. Tomorrow I head back to work-work. Jeff hasn't been cleared to go back to work yet. He has his post-op appointment on Tuesday and will go back to work at the earliest on Wednesday. Lucky bum.

Vacation was busy. And mostly good. I think that everyone has their moments and when you have seven adults and four children in a house (no matter how large!) those moments will occur. I wouldn't be honest if I didn't acknowledge that there were times when we all took our space. On the upside, even with gloomy and wet weather we were able to do lots and we even made it the beach twice! Plus - we have lots of fun stories...about Mikayla needing people to check her "tastebugs" (she meant tastebuds). About Austin and Addison bonking heads. About Jessi telling Alana that if she didn't swallow her food it would turn into bugs, about Mikayla and Alana being convinced that Addison was crying because she was "frustrated that she only has two teeth." Some good ol' competition between the guys and the girls and lots more! I am going to upload the pictures tomorrow while I am at work and will have them on here by tomorrow night with their stories!

Addison grew so much in the last week I think that you will all be amazed. I know I was when I flipped through the camera and saw all of our pictures. She has defeated many challenges...and refined many new skills. Among these: crawling and standing. She is a quick little bugger! And she's now pulling herself up on furniture! Also new: a third tooth. Let's see how long this one takes! Hopefully not long!

That's it for today. I need to head to bed so I can be as ready as I can be for tomorrow.
