First of all, Addison would like to extend a big welcome home to her friend Ewan Jacob Swidorski, who will be four weeks old this week and who is just now finding out what life at home is like. She wants to tell him that if he cries, his mom and dad will pick him up and try to fix whatever is wrong. She also wants him to know that sometimes, it's fun to cry even when nothing is wrong, just to see how quickly they will come running. It is also more fun to stop crying the second they pick you up so they know that you are just checking to make sure they are paying attention. Addison has attached the following picture as a visual aid for Ewan.
Addison had a doctor's appointment today after we found a lump in her groin last night during bath time - which could only be explained by a hernia. Dr. Leary confirmed this finding this morning and we are scheduled for a surgical consult on Wednesday with Dr. DeCou. We have been assured that this is not uncommon in babies who were born a little early and that it is a routine procedure. We will post more information after our consult on Wednesday. Addison would also like to announce that she has had her first smile. Last Friday as her mom stuck her tongue out at her Addison's eyes lit up and her lips turned upward. She demonstrated her new skill for her dad on Sunday and has since avoided sharing more smiles with anyone. We have decided that she was just practicing - and will continue to work on this new skill and will unveil it for the general public shortly. Since we don't have any pictures of Addison smiling to share with you all we figured we would attach a few pictures that have made us smile and we think will make you smile too!

Uncle Jimmy and Aunt D wanted to wish Addison and family the best of luck at her Dr. apt. We are praying that the Dr. is able to give her a fast and painless recovery so that she can get back to smiling :)
