A Healthy But Unhappy Baby...

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers as Addison had her big day. Today was a long day. It began at about...well, last night. Addison had to fast before her surgery. This made for a long night of curious looks (an honest person would call them glares) from a hungry baby trying to figure out why she wasn't being given any formula. We learned last night that Pedialyte is not very filling. However, we only learned this after giving her a normal size bottle of four ounces - only to have a baby scream-cry for what I would consider a signficant amount of time in the middle of the night. We then gave her five more ounces...which seemed to somewhat pacify her. We were to the hospital by seven this morning and by eleven o'clock Addison had both of her hernias repaired (the doctors learned of the second one during the procedure) and we joined her in recovery. Both the doctor and the anesthesiologist agreed that there was no reason for her to stay overnight...so we were discharged by three o'clock. There has been a significant amount of scream-crying and farting this afternoon for Baby Addison. But we are doing well overall.

This has made Autumn very curious. Questions that may be running through Autumn's head this evening -
1.) Why is my Baby so unhappy?
2.) Why are there suitcases in the middle of the living room?

The answer to this second question is that Jeff and Gabe are leaving in the morning for their spring break trip to Phoenix for a quick visit with Nana and Mercer and a long weekend with Papa. Grandma Satterley, Addison and I are going to Traverse City for a little getaway. This means Autumn will be staying with her Grampy.

Below are the questions running through my head this evening -
1.) How long can babies scream-cry?
2.) Will I return home next week to a neurotic dog and how much will that vet bill be?
Thanks to everyone who gave us positive thoughts and prayer today. We love you.
